ABOUT
My practice is an exploration of the uncensored internal landscape, driven by the necessity of transforming raw, unmediated emotional states into tangible form. The subject matter often originates from an internal, intensely imaginative realm—an almost cartoony, psychological space—allowing me to depict the complexities of mental health and intrusive thought patterns.
The work is fundamentally defined by the duality of emotion and method. While the core inspiration stems from darkness and psychological tension, I deliberately use highly saturated colors, exaggerated figures, and surreal compositions. This stylistic exaggeration functions as an act of resistance, leveraging the loud and the absurd to diminish the grip of personal difficulties, creating a visible separation from everyday reality.
To capture the multi-layered nature of my vision, I employ a diverse methodology. As an artist who stages the unseen, I often build detailed models or photographic sets that recreate the worlds seen in my imagination or dreams, using these as foundations for my paintings. I integrate writing and text, allowing internal narratives to surface directly. My process is currently expanding from painting into sculpture and tactile installation, emphasizing contrasts in technique and material to convey the full spectrum of the work: the pretty, the humorous, the gritty, and the unapologetically uncomfortable.
Ultimately, my art serves as a catalyst—a way to harness exposed feelings and internal imagery into an enduring object that captures the dynamic tension between the mind’s internal chaos and the human desire for external order.
